Visit St. Mary's County Maryland

We would stay here again. Too much for a park with only electric hookups. The asphalt sites dipped a bit in the middle, at least my site and the neighboring sites. We'd love to have your business listed on our site. I stay here about 3 times a year and find it to be a little more crowded than I like, but a lot of Families really have a good time.

The park is clean and well maintained with several improvements being completed including a pool. The downside is that most of not all full hook-up sites are perpendicular to the narrow loop roads.

This was manageable with out 36' travel trailer but only because the sites around us were not occupied. I don't believe it would be possible to maneuver into a spot on a busy weekend. Some of the sites had a substantial slope but ours was easily manageable. Used this state park for 1 overnight stay on the way to Indiana.

Park was clean, shaded, next to lake. Sites on my loop a little out of level and the yard hydrant design was not familiar to me, so it took a neighbor to explain how it worked for us to get water. We were in the loop with full hookups. Service was good, good power and good water pressure.

Sites are not very level at all. Had a large site as we were on an end. Has been affected by Blue Green Algae for last years. Emerald green water, signs saying avoid all contact with water. Lots of camp hosts who are very friendly. Very nice state park on the north side of Grand Lake St Marys. We were parked in the new full hook up section.

The class A RVs on both sides of us had their rear tires off the ground to level. At the present time the lake is toxic with warning posted not to enter the water subject possible harm. Nice park, clean restrooms and showers, friendly staff. Site was in full sun. We had a site with full hood-ups. There's a beach, but it has too much algae in the lake to allow swimming not the camp's fault. Everything is wet right now, but that is not their fault.

It has rained for abut a month straight up here. But a nice campground, well kept, clean restrooms. New full-hook up sites, wide, with very narrow road and parking pad so kind of tricky backing in. LOTS of locals who let their dogs run but if you aren't local don't try it, you may get a ticket we don't have a dog but saw one couple ticketed while we were there. In short, not traveler friendly. Camp hosts were wonderful.

They had inexpensive laundry facilities. Everything was clean and well kept. There was a dump station and potable water available. The only problem was that the lake was off limits for swimming due to alga pollution.

We would stay here again. Dump station has easy access, water supply is close to dump off road. Showers cleanliness make up for the lack of sewers at camp sites. Pull through camping sites are "bellied" down in center making leveling for a short motorhome a bit hard.

Fee above reflects base camping fee. Too much for a park with only electric hookups. Web site says there is an off-leash dog park. Nothing listed on map. No warning until arrival that park has a no alcohol policy. Just would be nice to know.

You have to sit through all kinds of warnings about cancellations, etc. You'd think this would be in the list. When you click on "Get Directions" on the web site's camping page, it gives you directions to the west end of the lake.
