Had an excellent end to the day in tassie as I was there for just one day. Will definitely visit this place soon. I would thank Point Revolving for making our night a memorable one. First visit since the restaurant went through an upgrade. Everything you would expect from Hobart's number one restaurant.

What a wonderful venue to spend my birthday at. Great to catch up with my work colleagues outside of work. Lovely views and lovely atmosphere. Out waitress Linda was outstanding, such wonderful service. The food and view was exceptional, I cannot wait to come back. Great location for a special occasion. Hostess Linda was amazing. Thank you so much. Loved the special Heston Blumenthal moment of smoke and chocolate for the birthday guest.

Amazing and very thoughtful. It was a lovely view but we felt uncomfortable as so many wait staff were always at our table for different things, and always watching us.

I would have preferred a little more privacy. Loved the views and the service. Enjoyed the menu and the flambe experience. Such a wonderful experience to have an ever changing view as you dine with delicious food, great service and good company.

We really loved our high tea. I have been here a few times. The menu was good but compared to previous occasions not too great. Its more quantity vs quality now. Also the wait staff were not as welcoming compared to previous occasions. We had an excellent evening with family for a 60th birthday. The restaurant was beyond our expectations in food service and views.

Staff were great, we had a two year old and felt very welcomed. Blown away by the views from the Restaurant! The service was exceptional and the food was beautifully presented and very tasty. We will definitely book again for high tea soon! Second visit for the Friday lunch in a couple of months. The food and service once again did not disappoint.

Extensive wine list with large range of Tasmanian wines on offer. Although not from Hobart we will dine again before the year is over, hopefully with friends or family. We went to the casino for High Tea to celebrate an occasion and enjoyed it a great deal. The staff were attentive, the food was timely and plentiful and everyone had something to suit their tastes. A lovely place to sit, relax and catch up with a bubbly and then a cup of tea.

Certainly not the best high tea I have experience in Hobart - no savoury options apart from 2 different type of sandwiches we do no eat salmon so that was the only other savoury option and this was replaced by even MORE sandwiches!

More small savoury options and less sweet is my recommendation, particularly as it is accompanied by a glass of bubbles. We were extremely disappointed. The staff were attentive, but to the point they showed us the bottle of sparkling water prior to serving! Unfortunately, this is where the attention to detail ended.

The starters were merely adequate, with components of the dishes very questionable, but the main courses are where they really shone!

Whilst the steak was cooked well! We decided not to have the desserts! I had two dirty glasses and when they were replaced I got wine with residue. I would not return or recommend. No view would make this worthwhile. Absolutely brilliant food and service. We come for dinner each time we visit Hobart with friends and love each visit. The Revolving Restaurant at Wrest Point continues to be a premium dining experience for Hobart, with excellent service, outstanding food and a discussion with the Head Chef about the menu was a bonus!

We love The Point for anniversaries and birthdays. It is the upper end of the market, so expensive, but we think you are still receiving good value. You can't go past the Steak Diane cooked at your table or the Crepes Suzette, also cooked at your table, as good or better than any I've had in France.

And as its a revolving restaurant, even if your table doesn't have a view when you get to it, it soon will have. The setting was good and the service was mixed with our waiter being not so friendly. The supervisor was very accommodating and pleasant. The seating was poor and a little unstable. Food value was between poor and fair with prices on the high side.

We loved the view and would only return on a special occassion. Loved the food, view, and service. Really great high tea! We had a wonderful family celebration, with great, friendly staff.

It was a truly lovely afternoon. We had high tea which was excellent. We waited a bit to be served once all our party had arrived which was only an issue because I was a bit short of time due to a convention schedule change but apart from that ti was excellent.

The development of the casino included the construction of the storey hotel tower, with a revolving restaurant, designed by Sir Roy Grounds , a landmark that is nationally identified with Hobart, and the metre dodecagonal prism tower remains the city's tallest building. The building has been extended in recent years, including the conference centre which was opened in , and the boardwalk in In a 70 million dollar investment was announced, bringing five new dining outlets and more bars, a private VIP gaming room and a complete new contemporary feel across the entire casino.

While initially the hotel was supposed to be an entertainment complex, the casino soon took over much of the hotel; and, while the poker machines were initially not permitted, by executing successful lobbying, [1] they now come to dominate the complex, with over machines.

The owners of the hotel and the poker machines, Federal Hotels, were fined on a number of occasions for poker machines that were not functioning as programmed, and were thus in breach of the law. In , the building was protected with a heritage listing. In the election , the opposition leader, Rebecca White, promised to remove all pokies from pubs and clubs, leaving the two casinos as the only location for pokies in the state, citing the negative health and economic impacts of poker machines.
